What started out as a writing competition among friends in 1816 gave birth to one of the most well-known horror stories to date. This year, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein turns 200. To celebrate, Science Gallery Melbourne is hosting an evening of Frankenstein-themed spoken word poetry. Established and budding poets will perform works exploring ideas such as gothic sci-fi, transhumanism, artificial intelligence, synthetic biology, and genetic engineering in the collision of arts and science.
